“BE CAR CARE AWARE”
“Be Car Care Aware” is an educational campaign sponsored by the Car Care Council (www.carcare.org) promoting the benefits of good vehicle maintenance. As part of Car Care Month activities nationwide, Station Automotive is filling this issue with lots of useful information on how we help you better maintain your vehicle and become more car care aware.
According to the Car Care Council, nine out of 10 vehicles in April 2006 showed neglect. Three of the top problem areas were:
- Over-worn oil and fluids
- Air intake issues
- Cracked belts and hoses
Spring 2007
NEWS FLASH: REGULAR MAINTENANCE IS A GOOD THING.
You’ve heard this before, right? But the truth of the matter is we still see $2,000 jobs that could have been prevented by a $300 or $400 maintenance interval service. Maintenance intervals usually come at “30,000
milestones”, i.e. your odometer crossed 30,000 or 60,000 or 90,000 miles. (To many of our Evans customers: the math still applies at 180,000 miles!) So we’re jumping on the Car Care Aware bandwagon in April. Don’t get me wrong, we’re happy to do the $2,000 jobs, but we’d rather help you prevent them -- honest. If you’re still not convinced, keep in mind that a well-maintained vehicle is significantly more fuel efficient, less polluting and more valuable. So please don’t ignore maintenance intervals or seasonal changes. Both are great opportunities for us to make sure your vehicle is up-to-snuff, and for our mechanics to flag any problems that could get serious. Still not convinced? OK, I’ll throw in 50 bucks to help you do the Good Thing -- but only for a week, April 9 - 14.

EXPERIENCE RUNS DEEP AT STATION LODO
In this issue, we want to celebrate the backbone of the LoDo Station Automotive Services Team: Mechanics Jimmy Ramos and Santana Lopez.
At the front desk, we can be likable and knowledgeable, courteous and attentive, but
you really come back for only one reason: you’ve got a great mechanic.
“I gotta guy ...” Your mechanic is a lot like your doctor. He has to diagnose and treat your car, and keep it running well for as long as possible. If you didn't trust your doctor, or questioned his expertise, you would find another doctor. Our mechanics have seen it all, and are the ones who keep our customers cars on the road. They provide the regular check-ups that keep your vehicle healthy and extend its life, and are there for the emergencies, when you need that depth of experience to fix the big problems.
There is an old saying: "Quality is not expensive, it's priceless." The bulk of our new customers come to us on a recommendation from another of our customers. And as you read about these guys, you’ll see why. As Station Automotive Services celebrates another year of growth and progress, we salute the mechanics at all four of our shops. They’re a group of professionals who love what they do and are committed to being great technicians. They’re one of the reasons we can say, “Trust the Station Specialists.” We hope you will continue to be our customer and to tell your friends and family, “I gotta guy for you...”
Thanks again for being our loyal clients. You are why we continually strive to be better.
Summer 2006
THE “GREAT MOVE OF 2006” IS (FINALLY) OVER!
The guys are settled in at 2041 Lawrence Street, the new location for the former Tillery Imports business. From the day they opened their doors in March, “Station LoDo” has been non-stop busy. The guys enjoy a lot more room to work and great tamales from our next door neighbors at LaPopular. If you haven’t yet seen this state-of-the-art shop, I think you’re in for a pleasant surprise.
Darcy, Steve and Luke have made themselves a home at 530 Broadway, following the final move for the Japanese business from Bolts Quality Car Care. To our Bolts clients: thank you so much for your loyalty through the extended move from 11th and Speer. We miss the old shop, but the condos are ready to go up and we couldn’t hold off the wrecking ball any longer!
I couldn’t be happier to introduce our new manager at TRKSTOP, Jim Mullen. Jim brings 17 years of management experience and significant transmission expertise. He and Joe Ramos are raising the bar to a whole new level of customer service -- I am certain you will notice a difference. And now that Marty Day’s Subaru clients have gotten used to TRKSTOP (only two blocks away from Marty’s old Subaru shop), it was an easy decision for Marty to stay at 2795 S. Broadway. The Mercedes-Audi-VW crew at 5850 E. Evans escaped without a move in 2006, so Dave, Bill and Mike are still wondering what all the commotion was about.
Thanks again for being our loyal clients. You are why we will continually strive to be better.
Winter 2006
WE’VE GOT CENTRAL DENVER COVERED!
Thanks to you … ... our little company has come a long way in the past 18 months We started with an idea to change the automotive services business: a family of full-service repair shops, staffed with specialized mechanics and equipped with state-of-
the-art technology. We grew quickly, to four shops in less than 12 months.
And now with the opening of our LoDo shop we have realized the first chapter of our vision, by covering central Denver with Station experts.
Today we consider ourselves the alternative to the dealership.
During this “growing up” period you have stuck with us through some
significant changes: the cross-town move of Walters Star Service; two moves for Marty Day’s Today Motors customers; the almost never-ending close of Bolts (“When are you guys moving?”) and the move to 530 Broadway; the expansion of TRKSTOP into Toyota and Subaru service; and finally, the move of the Tillery business to 2041 Lawrence.
We cannot tell you how much your loyalty means to us, but we can tell you this: we promise to do everything in our power to exceed your expectations. If we don’t manage to do that, please let us know. We want you to be our customer for life.
Thanks again from all of us at Station Automotive Services.

IT’S OFFICIAL: TILLERY IMPORTS JOINS THE STATION AUTOMOTIVE TEAM
I’m proud to announce that Tillery Imports – well-known Denver specialists in BMW, Mercedes and Volvo – has officially joined Station Automotive Services.
Among their many long-time customers, the Tillery crew is universally known
for a “Nordstrom” level of customer service.
Jimmy Ramos, Station’s new Chief Mechanic, has been an overachiever his whole life, from his youth as a national-class amateur boxer to today as a world-class BMW master mechanic. His Schulungspass – a registered record of his BMW training and accomplishments – looks like the passport of a lifelong world traveler. As senior
technician at Denver’s top BMW dealership, Jimmy regularly beat out hundreds of other dealership techs in BMW’s worldwide competition. He was a two-time Western U.S. finalist, and in 1997 he won a spot on the American team that traveled to Germany to compete against the Europeans! Jimmy will stay “on the wrenches” at Station, but he will also take the title Chief Mechanic, overseeing all of our mechanics and staying current with the latest in diagnostic tools and software.
Tillery’s shop, located at 530 Broadway, is bursting at the seams. We have begun construction on their new downtown location, which will open for
business by the end of the year.operation to our business.

TRKSTOP IS SUMMERTIME HEADQUARTERS FOR THE SARGE. Tony Schumacher, NHRA Top Fuel World Campion and Station Automotive/TRKSTOP Partner comes to Denver.
Our good friend and Station Automotive/TRKSTOP partner, not to mention reigning NHRA Top Fuel World Champion (2004 and 2006), Tony Schumacher, comes to Denver every year to defend his title. In 2003, Tony broke the record for wins in a season, and in May of 2004, he shattered the Top Fuel world record with a 336+ mph run. Check out website to see how you can meet Tony at one of our Station Automotive or TRKSTOP locations when he’s in town.

PETER BOYLES, DENVER RADIO ICON, JOINS THE STATION AUTOMOTIVE TEAM
If there’s a hot issue in Colorado or the world, you’ll find Peter Boyles at the
center of it. His investigative, provocative, down-to-earth style has powered KHOW-am630 to record high ratings. Peter brings out the real story and has an uncanny knack for getting people in the middle of the controversies to speak honestly and candidly.

You can imagine how excited I am to have someone like Pete on board. A long-time friend of my partner, John Frew, Pete met the guys at the shops and was hooked. Pete knows automotive, and now recommends Station because he’s a friend and believes in us.
Here are a few things Pete is saying about Station and TRKSTOP:
“I want to tell you about a bunch of Denver guys who are actually serious about changing the automotive repair business ...”
“... They believe if you really want to take care of your vehicle, you take it to a specialist ... Someone who knows your vehicle type ... and can fix any problem your car can throw at ‘em.”
“Ladies, that SUV you’re driving is a truck. Might ride like a car, but underneath, it’s a truck … So, if you’ve got a check-engine light, your transmission’s acting up, or you just want a quick oil change, take it to my buddies at TRKSTOP ... they’ll tell you the straight story ...”
“What's the difference between a automotive technician and a mechanic? Well, A technician replaces parts ... a mechanic fixes cars. ”
“... The guys at Station are like a family. A family of specialists who know your car inside and out ...”
The Best Compliment You Can Give Us is to Refer Us to Your Friends and Family.
We know that, in terms of cost and quality, there’s a huge gap between the dealership and the corner garage. That’s why we’re working to make sure that Station is the clear choice, and thank you for your business.
We want to be your service shop, and will work to earn your confidence and trust.
Autumn 2004
INTRODUCING STATION AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES
Station Automotive Services began when a group of professionals got together to make a difference in the automotive services business. We all agreed there was room for a company that combined the honest and friendly service of a great independent shop with the specialization and state-of-the-art technology of a dealership.
Here’s how we’re different...
- All our locations specialize in a particular vehicle type. In today’s technology-driven world, shops who advertise “foreign and domestic service” have neither the expertise nor technology to offer true, full-service repair and maintenance. Whether you drive a classic Mercedes or a 3/4-ton diesel pick-up, you should have a specialist work
on your car -- period.
- We’re a home-grown business that is growing fast, mainly by
partnering with well-respected shops. Our recent acquisitions of Bolts and Walters has already resulted in cost savings that we pass along to you. We have also upgraded the diagnostic capabilities of both locations. We built TRKSTOP from
the ground up as a state-of-the-art pick-up and SUV specialist. And since we handle all the administrative headaches in our main office, our managers can focus on you and your vehicle – not the hassles of running an independent business.
- We’re NOT a franchise. We never will be. That’s a promise. We’re
committed to a level of excellence that will require us to remain in
complete control of our operations.
- We take great pride in our shops, and we encourage you to look them over. We’re proud of what we do and where we work, so all our facilities allow you to see your mechanic at work. Your vehicle won’t disappear behind an “Employees Only” door.
Over time, we will change the name of Bolts and Walters to Station Automotive Services. We chose the “Station” name and logo to remind you of the time when customer service wasn’t just a buzzword, when you went “down to the station” to check under the hood, and when you knew the guy who worked on your car. The big difference is that this Station is manned by experts who are armed with technology, and know your vehicle inside and out.
We want to be your service station, and will work to earn your confidence ant trust.
